'Martin Lawrence Presents 1st Amendment Stand-up' Airs on Starz Every

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., July 31 -- Hilarious Washington D.C.
native Jay Phillips will perform in the Starz original stand-up drollery
series "Martin Lawrence Presents 1st Amendment Stand-up" on Wednesday Aug.
6 at 10 p.m. (ET/PT).
Phillips got his comedy break when co-hosting Baltimore's successful
WXYZ morning receiving set show. Soon after, he was voted as Baltimore Magazine's
Comedian of the Year in 2002. Phillips tv set credits include BET's
"Comic View," "The Late Show with Craig Kilborn," "The Shield" and ABC's
"Jimmy Kimmel Live." In addition, he has appeared in films such as Prom
Night, Baby Mama and Semi-Pro. On-stage performances include those at the
Loco Comedy Jam.
"Martin Lawrence Presents 1st Amendment Stand-up" is administrator produced
by one of America's most popular actor/comedians, Martin Lawrence. Now in
its third gear season, the weekly series features 35 talented, explosive, and
sure as shooting not politically correct, comedians who contract the public eye to severalize
it care it is in their own high-pressure style. Filmed before a live
audience in Washington D.C. at the historic Lincoln Theatre, the depict is
hosted by comic Doug Williams who adds his possess style of comedy. Spinning
the music is celebrated entertainer and DJ Biz Markie.
